Computer games are not just ordinary games. Similar to music records and movies, computer games can be categorized into different genres based upon many aspects of the game, such as gameplay style, graphics, and level of complexity of the game.

Adventure
Focuses more on exploration, puzzle-solving, interaction with game characters and less(or none) reflex-based challenges.

Wide range combination of gameplay styles, commonly uses statistical elements.(ie. health percentage, chance of critical strike, mana pool etc.)

Similar to RPG however players get connected online and complete quests, tasks, etc. together or against each other.

Real time simulation of in-game character's point of view.
Third Person Shooter (click here!)
Similar to first person shooter, but camera angle is often behind(chase view) the main character.

Tactical war gameplay, which often includes elements like resource gathering, base development, army advancement and offensive/defensive strategies.

Real time driving simulation against players or artificial intelligence(AI).

Simulation of traditional sports; ie. soccer, football, basketball, golf, etc.
